I think that I am destined to always hurt myself whenever I go skating.
At the first late night skate, I fell a few times, rug burn on my knees. (Not so bad). Second time, however,
I fell a few more times...and then at the very end I completely WIPED OUT!!! (Bruised hand bones, knees bruised and sore for at least 2 weeks after, etc.) And finally...this past Friday night. I decided to actually do a race. I was going pretty fast at the end...I decided (for some reason) to use the wall to stop. NOT a good idea. I ran smack dab into the hard wall, knocked the wind out of me and I couldn't breathe very well for at least a few minutes(not to mention that it hurt).
The only other time I remember distinctly getting the wind knocked out of me was back in either 5th or 6th grade, during recess. I know this because those 2 years were the years that almost my entire class would play soccer against the other grade (6th while in 5th, 5th while in 6th). And Jacob Smith kicked the ball. RIGHT. AT. ME. It hit me square in the stomach. Talk about OUCH!!! (and I wasn't even on the soccer field...) Oh well.
It's interesting what things stick out in my mind...
